JOB SUMMARY

Operates the industrial forklift/roll-clamp to move materials in the warehouse and/or to load and unload truck trailers or shipping containers.  Responsible for daily inspection of the lift for general maintenance and repairs.  Responsible for following all required safety regulations while operating the forklift/roll-clamp.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1.     Loads and unloads materials off or onto production equipment, pallets, platforms, skids, racking or trailers. May be done manually or with different types of lifting devices (forklift, clamp truck, hand truck, aerial lift, etc.). 

2.     Must be able to read and correctly interpret all documents for proper handling of incoming and outgoing material.  Must make moves accurately within the EPICOR system.

3.     Loads and unloads materials off of or onto pallets, platforms, skids, racking or trailers. May be done manually or with different types of lifting devices (forklift, clamp truck, hand truck, aerial lift, etc.). 

4.     Moves controls, devices, and levers to drive forklifts/roll clamps in order to transfer material to and from the dock to production areas or proper storage location in warehouse.

5.     Organizes and secures stored materials such as bales, boxes, pallets, rolls, etc.

6.     Weighs products or materials and records weight and other production information on labels and tags.

7.     Performs routine inspections to ensure the suitable working nature of forklift/roll clamp equipment.

8.     Reports to Supervisor/Manager any damage to racks, faulty equipment or any other safety hazards.

9.     Works in accordance with the state and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines along with all company policies and procedures.

10.  General housekeeping, maintenance and organization of the dock and inventory areas.
