JOB SUMMARY

Supervises employees in the sheeter department within a manufacturing environment.  Plans and assigns work, ensures adherence to policies and procedures, and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures, and working conditions.  Ensures effective employee relations and provides employee coaching and development.  Assists in making employment decisions for department and resolving employee issues through problem resolution.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Manages the activities of the shop floor and follow established procedures and approved processes with an eye on continuous improvement.

2. Leads all production operations. Possesses an ability to plan ahead to ensure proper inventory and staffing levels to meet and exceed production needs. Must have ability to run all lines in department.

3. Plans, schedules, and coordinates departmental activities to fulfill sales orders, meet inventory requirements and deliver manufactured products in a timely manner.

4. Maintains daily communication with the Customer Service Department and schedule delivery to accommodate customer needs.

5. Plays active part in employee selection and retention, performance and merit reviews, and discipline. Provides necessary training to ensure the quality of work performed by the department. Maintains a personnel structure and staffing level to accomplish the company and Department’s mission in an effective and efficient manner. Interviews and recommends applicants for hire.

6. Plans and coordinates work; trains, motivates, monitors and evaluates performance of employees; ensures their ability to safely operate all machinery, tools and equipment. Counsels and documents employees’ performance issues (good and bad) and handles accordingly.

7. Drives quality, safety and productivity initiatives.

8. Ensures all employees keep the production area neat and organized at all times.
